AT A GLANCE
Welcome to the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Negeri Padang.
The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Negeri Padang (FEB UNP) is one of the faculties at UNP which task is to provide higher education in the educational field, i.e Economic Education and non-educational fields i.e Economics, Management, and Accounting.
In accordance with the wider mandate appointed by the Indonesian Ministry of National Education to UNP, FEB UNP remains focused on implementing educational programs, specifically generating educational staff (teachers) in the fields of economics and business, in endeavor to develop educational programs in the fields of Economics, Management and Accounting, as organized by the Faculty of Economics and Business in general. This is the distinction between FEB UNP and other Economic Faculties.
Accordingly, FEB UNP owns several educational and non-educational study programs, both academic and vocational programs with various program levels as follows :
- Educational Field , with academic program study programs:Â
1.1. Undergraduate Economics Education aiming at generating graduates in economics and business with academic degrees as Bachelor of Education graduates (S.Pd).Â
1.2. Master of Economics Education, to generate a Master of Education in economics and business with the academic title of Master of Education (M.Pd.E)
- Non-Educational Field, with academic program study programs:Â
2.1. Bachelor of Management, aim at generating graduates in management with a Bachelor of Management (SM) academic degree. This study program also has a Dual Degree program in collaboration between FEB UNP and the College of Business Universiti Utara Malaysia with academic degrees of Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Business Administration (SE, BBA Hons).Â
2.2. Undergraduate Accounting with the aim of generating a Bachelor of Accounting with a Bachelor of Accounting (S.Akun) academic degree.
2.3. Undergraduate Development Economics with the aim of generating a Bachelor of Economics with an academic degree of Bachelor of Economics (SE).
2.4. Master of Management (S-2) with the aim of generating a Master of Management with an academic degree of Master of Management (MM).
2.5. Master of Economics (S-2) with the aim of generating a Master of Economics with the academic title of Master of Economics (ME).
2.6. Environmental and Development Studies (S3) with the aim of generating a Doctor of Environmental and Development Studies with the academic title of Doctor (Dr.)
- Non-Educational Field, with vocational study programs:Â
3.1. Accounting 3-year Diploma program aiming at generating skilled Associate Experts in the field of Accounting with the academic title of Associate Expert (A.Md).
3.2. Trade Management 3-year Diploma program with the aim of generating skilled Associate Experts in the field of Trade Management with the academic title of Associate Expert (A.Md).
3.3. Tax Management 3-year Diploma program with the aim of generating skilled Associate Experts in the field of Tax Management with the title of Associate Expert (A.Md)
As a higher education institution, FEB UNP also strives to generate graduates who have high competitiveness in facing the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) by linking and matching the FEB UNP curriculum based on KKNI-oriented competencies with the needs of the ASEAN Economic Community. For this reason, leadership and lecturers have made industrial visits to various multi-national and national companies to see firsthand the needs of the industrial world for FEB UNP graduates in the MEA era.
Apart from that, FEB UNP also provides opportunities for lecturers to further study Doctoral degrees with priority at foreign universities. Currently, there are several FEB UNP lecturers who are carrying out further studies in England, Australia and Malaysia, in addition to well-known universities in Indonesia, such as at the University of Indonesia (UI) and Gadjah Mada University (UGM). Recently, there were 3 FEB UNP lecturers who completed doctoral education at Deakin University, Macquarie University Australia and Gadjah Mada University (UGM).
FEB UNP also seeks to implement Quality Assurance through internal quality control at the study program and faculty level as well as external party recognition from BAN PT and ISO 9001:2008 for academic services and academic administration to FEB UNP stakeholders. Currently, all undergraduate programs, i.e. Economic Education Study Program, Management Study Program, Accounting Study Program and Development Economics Study Program, have been accredited A by BAN PT. In addition, the Faculty of Economics has also carried out recertification for ISO 9001:2015. Furthermore, the Bachelor of Management Study Program has also prepared to carry out AUN QA (ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance) certification. With this certification, it denotes that the Bachelor of Management Study Program has international quality, which is equivalent to the best universities in ASEAN.
FEB UNP regularly organized scientific seminars every year, viz. the Padang International Conference on Economics, Business and Accounting (PICEEBA) which is a continuation of ICEBA at the international level and the National Seminar on Economics, Management and Accounting (SNEMA) at the national level.
FEB UNP is also actively collaborating with both domestic and foreign universities, government institutions and the business world in order to support educational programs for the FEB UNP study program.
FEB UNP is also active in empowering students for entrepreneurship both in theory and practice. This is marked by the existence of entrepreneurial activities and an Entrepreneurship Expo every year which is held by students under the guidance of the Entrepreneurship course supervisor and the Deputy Dean for Student and Alumni Affairs (WD1) FEB UNP. In the future, FEB UNP wishes to become the leading institution in the field of entrepreneurship in Sumatra, hopefully.
