The Environmental and Development Studies Doctoral Study Program is oligodisciplinary
which is a combination of economics and environmental science. This is an advantage that
optimal economic activities are environmentally friendly. Alumni of the Doctoral Study
Program in Environmental and Development Studies can become lecturers, development
planners and researchers who pay attention to economic development without damaging the
environment (sustainably).
Registration information

  1. Prospective students
    The Environmental and Development Studies Doctoral Study Program (S3) accepts new
    student candidates who have Masters (S2) qualifications. Whether from domestic universities
    or foreign universities, or equivalent; derive from educators and/or education personnel
    working in universities, schools and other education providing units, both public and private,
    employees in other structural/service institutions; social organization staff; individuals untied
    to certain institutions/organizations, domestic or foreign (candidates from overseas should be
    in accordance with the applicable regulations); fulfilling the Administrative Selection and
    Entrance Examination Requirements.
  2. Student Candidates Requirements
    Master degree (S2), GPA 3.00 with disciplines of (1) Economics, (2) Engineering, (3)
    Management, (4) Economic Education, (5) Agriculture, (6) Animal Husbandry, (7) Fisheries,
    (8) Environment, (9) State Administration, and (10) Other relevant scientific disciplines or
    Master degrees in all scientific disciplines, with bachelor disciplines of (1) Economics, (2)
    Management, (3) Agriculture, (4) Mathematics and Natural Sciences, (5) Animal Husbandry,
    (6) Fisheries, and (7) Engineering.
  3. Implementation of Selection Registration
    Registration of new student candidates for the Doctoral Program (S3) is carried out online.
    The entrance selection exam includes a written test of study ability, an English language test,
    and an interview test which is carried out at Padang State University. Determination of
    accepted new student candidates will be discussed at a University level meeting with the
    Study Program leaders. Notification regarding the selection results can be seen online on the
    website of spmb.unp.ac.id.
  4. Re-registration
    Students who are declared of passing the selection are required to re-register with the
    academic and student affairs section of Universitas Negeri Padang, via on-line facilities. In
    the re-registration, new students should fulfil and complete the administrative requirements
    for the first semester of the academic year they are entering.
